Merry Christmas!

Here in our home, we are so thankful for the gift that God gave to the world.

We have 4 boys, our youngest being Houston (2). The 3 older guys all adore him + are so protective of him. We asked the boys who was the meanest kid they could think of. They came up with a few names + then we had them imagine that his family acted in a similar way. We then had them imagine little Houston as a baby. "Remember how helpless he was? How gentle + careful we had to be with him?" Then we asked them to imagine giving little Houston over to that mean family. (At this point, you could see the rage building up in Thomas + Cooper over the thought of that!) "Here, you can have him. Raise him. Have him for the next 33 years." Thomas, not being able to stand it any longer, said, "What does this have to do with anything?!!!" That's what God did. This earth, filled with sinful people... and God sent His Son, His one + only son, Jesus, to live with us, to be spit upon, beat, mocked, tortured + killed. He could have lived in Heaven with His Father, but God chose to send him to us, to save us, if we choose to follow Him. So, God, we THANK YOU!!!

Here are a few photos from our home this Christmas...

Gingerbread Train

One of our traditions is that we always make a gingerbread house. Well, this year things changed a little...

And boy was it yummy!

Our Boys' Ornaments

Every year, I have the boys make an ornament. We put their name + year on it + then hang it on the Christmas tree. When Christmas is over, their ornaments are stored in their special Christmas box until the next year, when once again, we'll get them out of their individual boxes + they'll say things like, "Oh, remember when I made this one? THIS is my favorite!"

Here are some of their ornaments from previous years...
Late one Saturday evening, a few weeks ago, the boys got to work making their ornaments for 2008, so of course, I had to snap a few shots...

After cleaning up, it was more fun + games... and then bed time.

Love you guys!

I am so blessed to have Jodi in my life! Jodi is my Company Photographer + she's INCREDIBLE! Not only is she a SUPER FUN person to work with, but she's also REALLY TALLENTED! She's AWESOME! You can check out her work by clicking HERE.

About a week ago, I received a frantic call... "When can you take MY family photos?" she was asking. She said she only needed the whole-family-Christmas-card-shot (you know, the one everyone wants this time of year) + that she'd take the rest of the shots herself. Well, hurt finger + all, I went out + took some photos of Jodi + her really fun family today. It wasn't an "official" shoot, but I still wanted to give her a little more than just the one great family shot. Jodi LONGS to be in Michigan with snow. LOTS of snow. But since that was not an option, we headed out to Mistletoe Meadows, a tree farm in the Camilla Shopping Center, just next to Olmstead Village in Pinehurst. The men working there were SO helpful + let us decorate a tree + even carry one away (+ then bring it back). So, to Mistletoe Meadows, THANK YOU!!!!! Your tree farm is FABULOUS!

So here's Jodi's family... Her husband Kevin, the AMAZING worship leader at Grace Church (LOVE that church!), + their two terrific children, Eden (6) + Eli (2).
Love you, Jodi!

And a huge THANK YOU to Mary who works at the Lyon's Den (located on Broad Street in Southern Pines) for letting us use this beautiful chair for some photos! Your furniture is FABULOUS + your friendship is INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU!

I loved getting to photograph your family! It was such a delight!
